About me.
Hi there! I am April, the designer and artist behind BurningGirlArt. My passion for nature and it's natural artistic beauty began at a young age. I grew up playing and fishing in rural oregon rivers , agate hunting the rocky coastline, and countless hours spent exploring the forest around my childhood home.
I love exploring the unique textures that nature has to offer, all the colors and beauty that each piece of wood has naturally. Different species of wood also have different characteristics.
My Inspiration is mother nature
I enjoy hiking, camping and photography in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by these hikes and exploring in nature. I love recreating the beautiful mountains, plants and wildlife in my work. Many of my pieces come from my own photos and experiences.
Why wood?
Every piece of my art is unique. Starting with the type of wood I've chosen to use, I try to see beyond a blank wood board and use the natural grain, knots , branches, figuring and patterns in each of my designs.
Why wood is eco friendly!
Protected and maintained wood will last for hundreds of years and can be repaired, re-finished, adapted and recycled throughout its life in service.
